Marcus is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC).

After completing a postgraduate course in Landscape Architecture, Marcus became increasingly interested in man's relationship with the environment (the microcosm within the macrocosm).

Marcus looked into Chinese Philosophy giving him an insight into Traditional Chinese Medicine, which looks in great detail at the natural rhythms inside and outside ourselves. This led him to commence his career in Acupuncture, at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) where he qualified in 1998, and gained membership of The British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC).

Acupuncture is the stimulation of the body using various different techniques: Needles are very useful but not completely necessary; Moxabustion (a warming herb); Cupping (relaxing suction cups); Electrical stimulation(muscle relaxing); 7 star Hammer e.g. Shingles/Psoriasis; Tui Na (Chinese Massage); Gua Sha which originated in Asia. Gua means to rub or to cause friction. Sha is the term used to describe congestion of blood at the surface of the body. The benefits of this treatment are numerous as it promotes normal circulation to the muscles, tissues and organs directly beneath the surface that are being treated which can reduce pain and increase mobility.

Marcus continued his studies of Acupuncture at the Zhejiang College of Chinese Medicine, Hang Zhou, China, which also included Tui Na (Chinese Massage), and Qi Gong (Chinese healing meditation exercises). In addition he has been studying Tai Chi Chuan since 1994, is a member of the Chinese Internal Arts Association and teaches Qi Gong and Tai Chi.

Since practicing acupuncture Marcus has found it effective for a wide range of age groups and ailments. Marcus believes Acupuncture to be, "a complete treatment which can be effective, informative and life enhancing". Marcus has found that children up to 16 years of age have responded particularly well with Acupuncture treatment to overcome anxieties, asthma, and digestive disorders. In his experience, the elderly can gain great relief from aches and pains, and maintain health in order to give high quality of life
