Osteopathy

Victoria spent five years gaining her formal qualifications at the British School of Osteopathy graduating in 2002. Since that time she has been working at BHHC alongside healthcare teams in GP surgeries in Basingstoke and Odiham.
Victoria stresses that "Osteopathy is a treatment for the whole body, not just the back. It treats people in mild or acute pain, with severe or chronic problems".
Osteopathy uses manual methods of treatment consisting of soft tissue massage, passive movements of the joints and if appropriate gentle manipulations of the joints. It is very effective for many musculo-skeletal problems such as :-
- Back pain
- The pain of arthritis
- Repetitive strain injuries
- Aches and pains associated with the change in posture during pregnancy
- Sports injuries such as joint and muscle strains
- Occupational injuries or strains related to work postures
- Headaches caused by tension, posture or whiplash
Osteopaths are trained to diagnose and treat many causes of pain; Osteopathy is a safe, gentle and natural approach to health care and is appropriate for the young and the old and for many people with disabilities.
Many patients are self-referred. Victoria is registered with all the main insurance companies. Some companies require a letter from your G.P. Please check when you call for your initial consulatation.
Victoria is registered under the General Osteopathic Council and is a member of the British Osteopathic Association.
