Acupuncture aims
to ensure the smooth running of bodily functions, thoughts and
emotions
by influencing the series of energy channels
beneath our skin (meridians), which consists of equal and
opposite qualities - Yin and Yang. When these become unbalanced,
illness
may result. The acupuncturist stimulates the body's own healing
responses to help restore natural balance. The aim is to improve
the overall well-being of the patient as well as specific symptoms.
Acupuncture is often used for indeterminate aches and pain
relief,
Examples of which are dermatological, musculo-skeletal (including
sciatica), over-use and sports injuries, ear/nose/throat problems,
M.E., I.B.S., ulcers and high blood pressure. It is also effective
for hormonal imbalances and pregnancy management and can be
used
alongside conventional medicine for acute and chronic diseases
as well as helping to overcome addictions (smoking, alcohol,
food
or drugs). Periodic treatments can act as a preventative
to maintain resistance to colds, flu, S.A.D. (Seasonally Adjusted
Disorder)
and hayfever etc.
Marcus has become particularly interested in:
Gynaecological conditions:
Acupuncture is very effective at correcting these problems from clearing acute pain, even with Endometriosis; regulating emotional symptoms (PMS); helping with polycystic ovaries and improving fertility.
Headaches and Migraines:
Acupuncture is well known to successfully treat these conditions. Marcus has found that his patients can experience significant reduction in pain intensity and frequency from headaches and migraines after only a few treatments.
Back/shoulder and neck pain:
Acupuncture’s unique use of needles and cupping, makes it extremely effective at reducing pain, muscle spasm, so enabling the body to heal its self.
Cosmetic Acupuncture:
Treatment can stimulate blood flow to the face, thereby nourishing the skin which in turn will rejuvenate and enhance your appearance.
